Categories are a way to group product ranges together. Well set up product categories help you navigate your products easily and allow you to report on items within a specific category. It also helps make stock take more manageable as it can be done by product range category.
Add a product range category
1. Select the Cards tab in Kitomba.
2. Select the Manage Products and Vouchers button.
3. To create a new category, select the Product Category you want the new product range to sit under from the list on the left.
4. Select the Create a Category icon on the right.
5. Enter the name and details of the new product range.
6. Select Save at the bottom right.
Edit a product category
You can edit product categories individually or use category actions to change all items in a product category.
1. To edit product categories individually select the Cards tab in Kitomba.
2. Select the Manage Products and Vouchers button.
3. A list of product categories will be displayed on the left-hand side.
4. Select the category you wish to edit. In this example, we want to edit the Wella category.
5. On the right-hand side of your screen, the Category card will show. You can now make any changes required. In this example, we have changed the name of the Wella Category to Wella products.
6. Select Save at the bottom right.
Deactivate a product category
1. Select the Cards tab in Kitomba.
2. Select the Manage Products and Vouchers button.
3. A list of product categories will be displayed on the left-hand side.
4. Select the product category you wish to deactivate. In this example, we want to deactivate the Brushes and Combs category.
Note: You cannot deactivate a product range category that contains products. You can see which categories have products by the indicator box on the left. If there is a + in the box this indicates you can expand to view the list of products under this category. If it is a - this shows an expanded list of the products and if there is no indicator box there will be no products underneath.
In this example, you can see that the Brushes and Combs category does not contain any products.
5. Select the Deactivate button at the bottom right.
Reactivate a deactivated product category
1. Select the Cards tab in Kitomba.
2. Select the Manage Products and Vouchers button.
3. A list of product categories will be displayed on the left-hand side.
Note: If you cannot see your deactivated category, untick the Hide Deactivated checkbox above Search Results and select Search to refresh the list. Deactivated items show in italics.
4. Select the product category you wish to reactivate. In this example, we want to reactivate the Brushes and Combs category.
5. Select Reactivate at the bottom right.
The product category you reactivated now shows.
